Poland Turkish Businesspeople Association POTİAD was established on 29.03.1997 in Warsaw. Mr. Fikret Büyükbayrak, the number one founding member of the association, also served as the first president until 2000. The number one honorary member of the association is the late President Mr. Süleyman Demirel. Sait Büyükbayrak is currently the president of the board.
POTİAD, the largest NGO of Turkish origin in Poland, has played and continues to play important roles in the development of trade and relations between Turkey and Poland since its establishment. Our association, which is a member of DEİK, signed the free trade agreement between Poland and Turkey, Turkish Airlines started scheduled flights to Warsaw, convened the Turkey-Poland Business Council, and named Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s name on a school in Wroclaw, Poland. It has also led the way, and carried out several cultural and social activities.
POTİAD, which always maintains close cooperation with our embassy and other state institutions, will continue to do its best with the contribution of more than five hundred members to strengthen and increase the relations between the two countries.
Sait Büyükbayrak was born in Montenegro in 1963.
He started his business life with leather and jewelry trade in Istanbul Grand Bazaar.
Following Turkey’s opening up, he started to trade with Poland in 1986 and settled in this country permanently in 1995.
Büyükbayrak, which started out with the production of textiles and shoes in Poland, was involved in the construction sector from the beginning to the end in the construction and completion of Reform Tower, one of the first modern office buildings in Warsaw, and Blue City, one of the first shopping malls, in the same way in 2014. It was found in the construction and completion of the European construction.
Büyükbayrak, who is the president of POTIAD, the Polish-Turkish Businessmen Association, played a major role in the signing of the Turkey-Poland free trade agreement, and in the formation of many commercial, social, and cultural events that promoted Turkey in Poland and Poland in Turkey.
He continues his business life in the fields of textile, logistics and construction.
